Dr Allen Haddrell

RESEARCH FELLOW & AEROSOL SCIENTIST

Allen Haddrell is a Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry, University of Bristol. 

Dr Haddrell is an aerosol scientist interested in understanding the complex interactions between all types of aerosol and human health. To study these connections, he develops unique methodologies and instrumentation that utilize particle levitation. 

He has over 50 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of tropospheric processing of particulate air pollution, how aerosol composition/size affects human health, drug delivery to the lungs, and the behaviour of aerosolised micro-organisms.

 

Professor Stephen Griffin

PROFESSOR OF CANCER VIROLOGY

Professor Griffin studied at Cambridge and is Professor of Cancer Virology at the University of Leeds. He is the Virus Division Chair of the Microbiology Society and co-chairs Independent SAGE, an independent group of scientists providing transparent advice during the COVID crisis. 

Professor Griffin works with various groups including the NHS and mainstream media to provide evidence-based, transparent and accessible information. 

Professor Griffin often communicates science related to the pandemic. He has featured on various government committees and given evidence at the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Coronavirus.

 

Professor Rhys Thomas 

CONSULTANT ANAESTHETIST MBBS MD FRCA

Dr Rhys Thomas is a consultant anaesthetist and professor in Digital Health and Social Care, applying medical and military expertise towards scientific innovation. In 2021, he co-designed the first British DIY air filter which was supplied to schools in Ceredigion, Wales. 

He is an expert in respiratory diseases and one of the only two successful winners of the UK Government’s Covid Ventilator Challenge to invent, gain regulatory approval and to take to market, a highly effective new ventilator to treat coronavirus patients.

Professor Thomas is also co-founder of the Wales Air Ambulance.

 

James Neill

CONSULTANT DATA ANALYST

James is an accomplished leader and consultant data analyst with decades of experience in both. He has a keen interest in education with a broad range of experience including state and private school sectors and also higher education.  

Specialising in education and paediatric data on a voluntary basis, James has ensured that the impact of the pandemic on and between children and their families is realised including contributions to published research.

 

Nathan Wood

VENTILATION SPECIALIST

Formerly the Chairman of Indoor Air Quality at BESA Group (Building Engineering Services Association) Nathan Wood is now Head of Special Projects, Competence and Compliance. 

He is also the full-time Managing Director of Farmwood Ltd, an independent company established in 2002 that specializes in ventilation systems for commercial, industrial and domestic applications.

In the last eight years Nathan Wood has developed a passion for clean air; he has supported and developed many technologies that enable healthy buildings.
